ARTP Project

The ARTP Project is dedicated to enhancing the profitability of local fermented beverage companies by integrating sustainability-driven solutions into their operations.

The first research theme of the ARTP Project focuses on water and wastewater. Researchers are exploring opportunities to reuse water within the production cycle and improve wastewater treatment and management, helping businesses conserve resources and reduce costs.

The second research theme centres on reduction and upcycling, addressing ways to minimize raw material inputs and transform by-products into valuable secondary products. This approach not only reduces waste but also creates new revenue streams for producers.

The KINdling Project

The KINdling project encourages people in modern Canada to engage in meaningful change within their families, organizations, and communities. It focuses on how Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups can work together on the complex issues of decolonization, resistance, resurgence, and healing through training rooted in Indigenous knowledge and practices.

This training program will help participants understand and transform harmful patterns of systemic oppression in their organizations and communities. It aims to guide them in recognizing their unique identities, developing new skills, and fostering a supportive network as they emerge as leaders in the work of truth and reconciliation.

By building this community, the KINdling project seeks to promote reconciliation, healing, and community well-being, ultimately benefiting education, health, and environmental efforts.

BrainTrust Project

Led by professor Dr. Colin Wallace, this research investigates how students transition back to the classroom after experiencing a traumatic head injury, such as a concussion.

Partnering with BrainTrust Canada and funded by an NSERC Mobilize Grant, the project is developing a Return-to-Learn program with personalized accommodations. With limited research in this area, the initiative ensures students can continue their studies while healing, bridging the gap between return-to-sport strategies and academic recovery.
