Description: Hold on tight—the ground might start rocking any minute! Exact numbers can vary depending on the model, but a commonly cited figure for the broader southwestern BC region (which includes the Okanagan) is that there is anywhere from a 10% to 30% chance of experiencing damaging ground shaking from a moderate-to-large earthquake (around magnitude 6.0 or greater) over a 50-year span.
